BACKYARD BOUQUETS: Learn to Grow Your Own!
Date: MAY 19, 2019
Time: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: Love 'n Fresh Flowers | Philadelphia PA
Are you a home gardener who has been bit by the flower bug? Curious how you can create a little cutting garden in your own backyard that will yield armfuls of blooms for bouquets all season long?
Come enjoy a spring afternoon on our five acre flower farm in Philadelphia, learning from Jennie how to pick the best plants for your small space, when to plant them, where to get seeds, how to manage weeds, and how to set up a watering system so you don't loose control of your garden as the dog days of summer hit. She'll also instruct on how to harvest cut flowers properly to stimulate plants to produce even more blooms!
This workshop is packed full of information, and Jennie's relaxed teaching style will make going home and tackling your own cutting garden easy! Students will be given seeds during the workshop to take home along with a demonstration on how to properly sow them. Students can also purchase additional seeds and perennials during the workshop.
This class is hands-on so come prepared to get dirty. This class is suitable for home gardeners growing flowers just for pleasure. If you are a flower farmer looking to produce lots of flowers for sale, you are better served attending our more intensive professional courses, Flower Farming 101 or Flower Farming 102 Master Classes.
Light seasonal refreshments are provided during the workshop.
Class size is limited to 15 people; five students must be signed up for the class to run.
In case of severe weather, the class may be rescheduled or canceled. Students will be notified in advance as much as possible.
