Colors really are at the heart of good floral design. Learning to interpret the subtlety of individual hues and to blend them for energetic harmonies is the ultimate skill of a master designer. Weather you are a beginning designer or an experienced pro, honing your eye for color is an important part of your evolution as a floral artist.
During this class, Jennie will discuss how she is inspired by color in the flower fields and how that inspiration guides her choice of tones in a given arrangement. In addition to working directly with flowers during this workshop to better understand color, students will be given a set of watercolors and a notebook (which are theirs to keep) to use in exploring how what appears to be one color really is many colors fused and layered together.
Students will be encouraged to cut flowers from the field themselves and take home extra flowers for practice.
*No watercolor or drawing skills required to enjoy this workshop. The watercolor portion of this workshop is simply meant to be a tool to demonstrate color composition, not create a painting masterpiece.
